Yes you can turn over when a programme starts that you have seen before and know it's not for you, but on here you may have to just ignore every post by that poster and there may be some really funny clean jokes you miss or a 'serious' topic even.

Like watching 'Mock the week' you may find some of the comedians very funny and one that really isn't ( I don't know his name but there is one on there who is, imo never funny), so do you skip the 80% that does make you laugh or put up with the 20% that you find unfunny or crude?

Wend,

I would love to post a joke for you but I dare not. If Rollo's guess that the phantom referrer is a D C Thomson employee is correct then they may even now be watching this space. Their mouse pointer aimed at "Report" and their finger poised ready to spring into action should they spot anything likely to cause offence or corrupt.

It has taken me too long to cultivate my persona of a virtuous, upstanding pillar of society and totally all round nice guy for me to risk it being sullied on the whim of a completely humourless nerk.

On the subject of Mrs Brown's Boys, I confess that I cannot stand it but my wife thinks that it is very funny. I don't however switch the TV off so she cannot watch it as I know that it does not cause her any offence and at her age she is unlikely to be corrupted by its content. It is what I believe is known in some circles as tolerance.

Rose, you put up with the 20% that you find unfunny.

JustJohn Report 15 Oct 2013 23:23

Mock the Week. Now that really is a puzzle, Rose. Just asked my son who it might be and serious reply was Dara O'Breen. He didn't have to think about his answer.:-D

I am seriously ROFL.

Stewart Francis and Milton Jones are my favourites :-) :-)

Island Report 15 Oct 2013 23:27

See Rose? If we can all put up with John I'm sure you can turn a blind eye to a 'smutty' joke. ;-) :-D

*whispers* what's he on about? :-S

They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa,
They're coming to take me away, ho-ho, hee-hee, ha-haaa.
To the happy home. With trees and flowers and chirping birds
and basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes and they're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!!! :-S

John no it's not Dara, and I do like Milton and Stewart.. it's a bloke with dark hair and a scruffy beard, he's on other things too ...and he's not funny on them either lol.

ps... ' they're coming to take me away ' is an old family favourite ;-)

pps...I should perhaps have said earlier on that the "explicit" joke I reported some months ago was not one of Mr Magoo's.

JustJohn Report 16 Oct 2013 10:27

Ava Vidal? Or Frankie Boyle. Both fit your description, Rose. :-) ;-)

Rambling Report 16 Oct 2013 10:30

Ava vidal doesn't have a beard lol, not Frankie Boyle... will have to google >>>>>

Joe Wilkinson.... only had to work through the whole cast lol, he's only been on a couple of times.

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 16 Oct 2013 10:55

Saw Joe Wilkinson on "Have I got old news for you?" on Dave couple of nights ago. He was on Ian's team. Rather an odd style. Very dry, then his eys rolled all over the place as he had to emphasise everything he said.

Weird - in not a nice way

Dermot Report 16 Oct 2013 18:15

'Weird' is one of those words that defies the spelling rule - 'i' before 'e' except after 'c'.

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 16 Oct 2013 20:11

Yes, the spelling of weird is very ...................

wierd :-S :-)
