My subscription expires 22 August.

Last year I paid $15.98Aus.

This year GR offered me a 20% discount. Discount on what?

This year they want just over $27. Funny sort of discount :-S

We've had a horrible year, emotionally, physically & financially, so I won't be renewing. As many of you know, we've had a flood, and my OH has been very ill, he does contract work, and if you don't work you don't get paid.

Paying GR is at the lower half of the "must pay" list.

I'll be posting until 22nd, after that I'll be watching :-D

LadyScozz - that news has really saddened me, despite all the upheaval and stress you have endured over the course of this year you have kept your chin up and have been the heart and soul of the party on here.

Please reconsider, you are a well loved and respected member, I for one will definitely miss your daily banter - and I am sure all your friends on here, and there are to many to list, will as well.

Sorry to hear that Scozz. I do understand the financial pressures you are under though and maybe, if and when things get better, you could return in the future. I shall miss your posts, I enjoy what you have to say.

Well, Kempina, I have had 3 of my posts reported this weekend and have (honestly and truthfully on the Bible) not reported anyone. I have said some harsh words about some of the posts on the stickied Sandie condolence thread, as they were unthinking, uncaring and a waste of time imo.

I have made very few reports in the year I have contributed. Probably about 20 in total, and more than half were reports upheld against one individual who continually jumped on anything I wrote with a hateful response. I have not counted number of my posts reported, but it is vastly more than 20 and almost all have been thrown out.

We should all have a pot and put 10p in when we have a negative thought. Some charity might really benefit :-) :-)

It hasn't just been this year, it's been nearly twelve months of things going wrong, from small things to enormous upsets, coffee pots blowing up is minor, relatives dying is enormous.

I've enjoyed my time chatting on the boards.

In all this time I've never reported anyone, and thought I had a clean slate as I had never been reported, until today! Somebody ignored the warning on the "R" thread (which clearly states there are risque stories) and reported me! How pathetic.

If GR see reason and charge what I've paid EVERY year up until now, I might renew, but not a big jump of an increase. Without the 20% "discount" the fee more than doubled ($15.98 to $33.96Aus).

The increased subscription charges have been mentioned on here since December....some have had their subs increased by double some have not....If they had said in December that everyone will have to pay the same as from now, it would be fair.....but it seems to be hit and miss about who is going to be charged more and who is not.

When I joined there was no yearly sub so had been paying £7.95 - £9.95 every six months....now they want £12 which is minus the 20% so would work out to £24 a year....where as a new member can take out a yearly membership for £19.95 without any discount at all

So it goes to show GR are not interested in keeping their long term members

I have been a member for over 10 years now and I always get a very good deal. Couple of years I have had to write and ask for a lower sub, but they have obliged over the years and been very good to me.

Is it because I am so pleasant and never get into anything controversial :-S ;-)

Seriously, LadyScozz, I do hope they can give you an offer you can't refuse.

Different rules for different places & people?

I'm in Oz, been a member since June 2005, and have always paid annually.

This year is the highest price GR have ever asked me for. I'm not buying!

I belong to clubs of all sorts, and usually the longer you are a member, the cheaper the subs, because they care about long-term members and want to keep them. The usual thing....... the "fixtures" look after the newbies, show them around, introduce them to people & make them feel welcome. What does my local social club cost me? $5Aus a year! :-D

Lady Scozz I'm really sorry to hear you may leave can understand your reasoning but why not write and tell them it is far too dear for you they seem to have all sorts of prices I'm sure I never paid that in June will have to check :-(
