Stay in, keep smiling, keep praying.........
Let not your heart be troubled Let not your soul be sad Easter is a time of joy When all hearts should be glad Glad to know that Jesus Christ Made it possible for men To have their sins forgiven And, like Him, to love again So at this joyous season May the wondrous Easter Story Renew our faith so we may be Partakers of His glory

Hello all
Cynthia,I don't do jigsaws but I enjoy word searches to keep my brain active and pass a little time away.
Emma, you must be loving the HSR postings.
I came across this prayercard when I was tidying a drawer out and hope it might be helpful to others too.
I live alone, dear Lord, stay by my side. In all my daily needs be Thou my guide. Grant me good health, for that indeed, I pray, To carry on my work from day to day.
Keep pure my mind, my thoughts, my every deed, Let me be kind, unselfish in my neighbours needs. Spare me from fire, from flood, malicious tongues, From thieves, from fear, and evil ones.
If sickness or an accident befall, Then humbly Lord, I pray, hear Thou my call, and when I'm feeling low, Or in despair, lift up my heart and Help me in my prayer.
I live alone dear Lord, yet have no fear, Because I feel Your presence, ever near.
Keep well and stay safe everyone. x

I love my Logic Problems, reading, crochet & cross stitch when i can and of course my family tree. Always a lot to do where the family trees are concerned- never have the time to do it during the week.
Have you heard from Evelyn Cynthia?
Take care - loving the poems and peaceful words .

Passover finished yesterday so today is Good Friday here. A very quiet day with lockdown.
Easter Saturday/Easter Sunday celebrations cancelled. No bonfire and fireworks at midnight Saturday, they are cancelled. As well as no crowds we have a curfew 9 pm - 6 am. The family get togethers are also cancelled.
Wonder if we'll have the bells :-S - will let you know Cynthia :-D

Good morning :-)
Ah Pat, the bells! It will be strange for you if they don't ring and strange for me as I always enjoy reading about your church bells :-D
So pleased you enjoyed the poems Emma <3 Tabitha, I do speak to Evelyn occasionally. We had hoped for more news from JaneyCanuck who arranged a DNA test for her but haven't heard from JC for absolutely ages.
For today - a little reminder about the Resurrection we have just celebrate and which those where Pat lives, will celebrate on Sunday (albeit quietly).
Easter is about liberation, the celebration of the Resurrection is a chance for us to say, "Yes, Jesus, I believe.” When we do so, we are given an opportunity to grab the hope that is already there. Easter is an annual reminder that we are never alone.
Even in the darkest of times, God is with us. Just as Christ walked among men 2,000 years ago, He walks with us still today and reminds us that, as Christians, we are never without hope. We are never abandoned or left to face darkness and despair by ourselves because Jesus is always with us.
Something to hang onto in these strange times.

Hello all
Cynthia, as Christians it's good to believe that we are never left alone and that there is always hope too.
Pat, maybe Sundays bells will be muffled?
Remembering all the grieving families facing funerals today and being forced to say a final goodbye to loved ones who have died from the Coronavirus.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. (Matthew 5 v 4) NIV bible.

Thank you Cynthia - send her my love - I miss our chats.
I am now a great believer in DNA - For years my family thought my Great Great Grandmother was an unmarried lady and then met someone who took her and the baby on. They married when my Great Grandfather was 9 and then they had 2 girls as well.
Since the DNA tests - it shows the man my Great Great grandmother married was actually the father of her little boy after all. Which is lovely as my mum always use to talk about him. I have several DNA matches to his family now.
I also have a large number of DNA matches for my father and his family - which for me is proof positive., as I never knew his name till I was 18. Now through distant family I know a lot about him.
Have a lovely weekend and know we are never alone, there is always someone looking after us and being there when we need a helping hand.
Take care and keep safe.

kandj ..
I had also noticed that David has not posted for several days, either on this thread or any other.
That is very unusual for him.
I do hope that he contacted the medics and is OK.
Unfortunately there is no way to contact him other than through GR, unless someone knows his personal email.
We'll just have to wonder, and hope for the best.
Cynthia ............... JC did appear back on the boards about 3 weeks or so ago, but was "testy", even had a major argument with me!
She did seem to have a lot of problems on her hands from her mother to OH, both of whom have major health problems, and the house.

Good morning :-)
Yes, David has been quiet hasn't he? It's been about a week I think. If anyone hears anything, please let us know how he is.
I only nip in and out of here these days Sylvia, so I missed JC's appearance. Sent her an email yonks ago but no response and she has, usually, responded in the past.
I will certainly give Evelyn your love Tabitha.
For today - still remembering Easter.....
Hang It On The Cross
If you have a secret sorrow, a burden or a loss, An aching need for healing... Hang it on the Cross.
If worry steals your sleep and makes you turn and toss, If your heart is feeling heavy... Hang it on the Cross.
Every obstacle to faith or doubt you come across, Every prayer unanswered... Hang it on the Cross.
For Christ has borne our brokenness and dearly paid the cost To turn our trials to triumph... Hanging on the Cross.

Hello all
Very unlike David's name not to appear here on on other posts. I really hope that all is well with him and with Ellen now.
I'm continuing to walk around the village streets for daily exercise and prayer walking at the same time.
Little prayers added up together can make miracles. Little miracles put together can create wonders. May you find time to say a little prayer each day, and That miracle that do happen.
Just a very simple "Thank you" each day is enough.
Sending Saturday blessings to all who look in here x

Hello all
Thanks for the info Emma but like Sylvia, I don't look at that either, it's good to know David is still about.
No church obviously but I am enjoying the radio 4 early morning service, and today's Sunday worship from St David's Cathedral and Songs of Praise too. Well catered for during the lockdown period I think.
New every morning is the love Our wakening and uprising proof Through sleep and darkness safely brought Restored to life and power and thought.
Only dear Lord in thy pure love Fit us for perfect rest above And help us this and every day To live more nearly as we pray.
This was the hymn that I was singing quietly in my thoughts as I went for my daily exercise today.
Thinking of all the residents and general ward hospital patients and the staff in both places, as they all face challenging and fearful times right now.
Enjoy the sunshine and stay safe everyone X

Good afternoon :-)
Sorry about the late start......
Good to know that David has been seen around.
The Collect (special prayer) for today :
Collect Almighty Father, who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples with the sight of the risen Lord: give us such knowledge of his presence with us, that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life and serve you continually in righteousness and truth; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The Gospel reading tells the story of Doubting Thomas.

Good morning :-D
.....and I have lost 3 jigsaw pieces.....arrrrghh. Hands and knees round the table later!! ??
Tabitha - Evelyn sends her thanks and best wishes to you!
The cover on the FB page I do now reads ‘Life after Easter’. With that thought in mind, I looked around for ideas on how we might live the Resurrection in our lives. I found a few thoughts which I will share with you this week.
One way, is to recognise our sins for what they are. When we closely examine our own sinfulness, that’s when we realize what’s really going on in our hearts. It’s very easy to think “I’m a good person.” But are we? If others knew our thoughts and motives, would they think the same? When the Holy Spirit goes to work in our lives, he exposes and convicts us so that we will change.
This is the prayer we say each week in church : (when we were in normal times).
Almighty God, our heavenly Father: We have sinned against you, through our own fault, in thought, and word, and deed, and in what we have left undone. For the sake of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, forgive us all our offenses; and grant that we may serve you in newness of life, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Hello all
Oh no Cynthia, I hope those pieces turn up!
Reading the post today brought back the words of an old hymn which I'd like to share with you all on here.
Sinners Jesus will receive, Sound this word of grace to all Who the heavenly pathway leave, All who linger, all who fall.
Come and He will give you rest; Trust Him for His word is plain, He will take the sinfulest; Christ will take the sinful men.
Sing it over and over again, Christ receiveth sinful men; Make the message clear and plain, Christ receiveth sinful men.
A bright sunny start but chilly so far. Stay safe today everyone.

No bells at all at the weekend :-D :-D :-D
Heard the Saturday evening sermon via loud speakers :-( we are quite away from the church so it must have been very loud near it. It was so loud the voice was distorted.
No bonfire at midnight Saturday/Sunday but fireworks started 22.30 until midnight then all afternoon yesterday.
The dog is out of her cave (downstairs toilet) now but wasn't happy on her walk yesterday afternoon as we'd got just over halfway when the fireworks started. Didn't know I could walk so quick, or should I say I didn't know Priya could pull me so far :-S
