I know that I live in a different time zone, and sometimes I think that I live on a different planet, but has that what was to be revealed, been revealed?

Have I missed it?

Was it earth shattering?
:-S :-S

You live on a very nice planet. You make me feel very jealous, Allan. Tomorrow we are going to get lashings of rain and wind and it will get very cold during next few days. And we have 3 months of almost uniterrupted misery to look forward to weather-wise. Someone has started a thread about SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) :-( :-(

How is the weather at the moment in Western Australia? Please don't gloat too much :-D :-D

Not gloating, but yesterday was 31c, but today thunderstorms are forecast. We'll soon be coping with temps up to 40c..too hot when combined with the humidity of the coastal regions.

Have you got A/C in house and car, Allan.

Or is a whirling fan? I have a whirling fan in my little Smart car in the hot summer weeks Edit days Edit hours :-(

A/C in both th house and car, John, but we try not to use the house one unless absolutely required.

Electricity prices have increased over 60% over the last 3 years in WA.

We close the curtains, which have sun-block linings, before the sun hits those particular windows, and wait for the 'Fremantle Doctor' which is a strong breeze the happens in the afternoons

Allan At least you are not rubbing it in too much. No mention of barbies and jumping in swimming pool to keep cool. We have got 40 as well but it is followed by an F which stands for ....... (can't remember)

Presumably you are enjoying more than our 5 hours of light a day at the moment :-)

John, we don't have a pool. They require too much maintenance. We have a large council pool about 5mins away, and an Aquatic centre in Bunbury. Also we are ony 5 mins from the coast, but recent shark attacks/sightings in this area make us a bit wary of swimming in the sea.

However, we do have barbies :-D

As for daylight...it is starting to lighten at 4.30 am and daylight by 5.00am. Starts to get dark about 6.30 pm. But we stil have a couple of weeks until Dec 21st so these times will stretch out by about half an hour.

I always find it amazing that I can discuss weather and life in real time with somebody so many millions of miles away like this. Perhaps it is my age :-(

Surprised that it gets dark so early in WA. Obvioulsy a lot nearer the equator than us, cos in June we see light about 4 am and it doesn't get dark till 10pm.

But this next 8 weeks is absolute pants. We have the perfect 10 here this morning (52F = 10C) therefore warmish (or mildish) this morning. No sign of the high winds and lashing rain today yet, but am assured it will occur. Yukkkk!!!! This is my last winter of work, and have booked 6 weeks holiday between now and end of Feb so that might help me get through as I work outside a lot :-( :-(

Thinking of you and your sunshine will help my day go better. :-D :-D :-D Now to lash down the rigging :-D
