I really enjoyed it. Did keep getting glances from the family wondering what I was giggling at.

I think that once a thread becomes obvious banter, then if you don't like 'that sort of thing', stay off it.

I have been more bothered by some of the replies I see on the threads, especially to newbies.

I would love to know who is reporting us all but unless it's a deathbed confession, I don't see it happening.

How about starting an 'It isn't me thread'?

Hello all

As the originator of the wooshed thread can I add my little bit.

I am not on Facebook so haven't seen the comments on there. I did receive an email from GR when I queried why, when the posts had been reinstated, they were then reported again and the whole thread finally deleted.

The email did not give any explanation.

I can only assume that as V*****e is a registered name the thread could be loosely considered as advertising, although many registered names have become generic descritions for similar products.

What annoys me is that you are told you have breached the T & C's of the site but not in which particular manner.

It's a bit like being hauled into court, found guilty of an offence and fined. But at the end of the day you still do not know what you have done so you can't take steps to avoid a repeat offence.

The other matter is that four or five posts were reported: if they breached the T & C's fine, delete them. But the entire thread??

Mind you, off topic, I really enjoyed the thread while it lasted and was suprised that it actually reached 15 pages: and confession time, I only started it out of sheer devilment to see if it would be reported.

NHS direct use the brand name vaseline on their website as opposed to petroleum jelly etc....so the brand name excuse......that's a non starter. Basically....it's too much hassle to tackle the rr'er direct.. it's easier to just remove threads that don't break the t and c's of the site rather than tackle the root of the problem head on and pay out money to block isp addresses...which is what WOULD solve this..

Clearly they can't be bothered to and we're all left in limbo not knowing what the sensitive little flower (or who) they will choose to be *offended* by next.

yet another reason for me not to renew my subs.

Getting REALLY fed up with GR's attitude to existing members.

They can always come up with an excuse for what they do, whether it's the shambles of a site, or removing posts etc.

I read the "V" thread, thought it was really funny. I found NOTHING there offensive in any way.

I would like an explanation from GR ON THE COMMUNITY BOARD - NOT ON FACEBOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No explanation here is YET ANOTHER way they have ignored EXISTING MEMBERS.

:-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P

Bling a lights gorrrrrrn on,,,,

I think it was the GOV NHS reccomendation that it be put on the nose as a pollen trap,,,,,,,,,,,it was muddled in the post as,,,,,,,

****STICK A WHOLE JAR OF VASELINE ON YER HOOTER***
which we all know would just look stupid going about with a jar stuck on your nose. ;-) ;-)

Reading Katie's reply, I do just wonder if there is some truth in it and she really will have a word with the team concerned. Maybe the fault lies with the training of the teams (and there seems to be more than one). maybe they do need to find out why some delete and some don't.

But also why can't they sort out the whole RR business as they said they would?

But Katie..... thousands of posts? You have to be joking! Hundreds maybe?

Like Scozz, I would also like GR to let us know on these Boards what is going on.

I am fed up with people/organisations thinking that everyone is a member of these various social sites.

Our local radio network runs competitions from time to time with prizes valued up to $1000.00. It gives out clues to the answer BUT only on Facebook.

The programme presenters emphasise the fact that if you don't join them on Facebook then you have no chance of winning. It was only last year that the clues were given out during the broadcasts.

GR should accept that its main means of communication is via this site

Allan, I am a member on FB but i also share your frustration with this situation,

How ever you need to understand how things work,

By GR being involved with FB and the tactic of posting on FB rather than on GR is to try and divert members of both sites to join the other site,

This increases both memberships which then goes on to generate income for both sites through subs and advertising revenue and then ultimately increases the value of both
