Frank Report 30 Oct 2020 10:29

Good morning to all,

I managed to get hold of the surgery after a to of engaged phone lines. I told them I was coming up NOW and needed to see a doctor. I was shown into the waiting room, and within seconds the Doctor called me in. It's was my favourite Dr. She was very concerned of how I was, and held my hand and talked to me for ages. She got me breeding deeply and counting ONE to TEN out load. She has prescribed another tablet. I had one as soon as I got home, and it settled me down a great deal. I only had a small Ham, cheese nd tomato sandwich to eat. That was the first all day. I took another tablet at 9.30 and went to bed. I slept right through until 6.30 this morning.

The tablets that the Dr has prescribed, has been given to Ros, who has complete control of when I can have one.I have had another this morning, after more ATTACKS. The doctor send Ros and I into the waiting room, while she spoke to a MENTAL HEALTH person, who I will be seeing next week. I just hope they can help me through this HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I feel so weak, and just can't control the shakes, and these horrid feelings. I can see me being sent to the local Mental Health Hospital, if I don't get control of things.

I'm so SORRY unloading my problems on to you, but apart from Ros I have no one to unload my feelings. What would I do without you, at this terrible time.

Going out to the patio, to cool down, and do my deep breathing, and counting one to ten, while deep breathing.

Stay safe, my dear friends. xxxx

We are always here for you to vent your feeling on Frank. Don't worry about annoying us as we all understand you need to talk to someone whenever. Try to relax and keep up the deep breathing. Sending love and wishes. <3

Island Report 30 Oct 2020 11:10

Frank, there's no shame in going to a mental health hospital - if indeed it comes to that. They are there to mend people just like broken bones and other ailments are made better. You may have gone into a bit of a tail spin now as a reaction to help finally being on the horizon.
Deep breaths. You will come out of this. <3

Morning Mel
I think I've missed the boat with kale and spinach. I don't really like either, except for some Kale hearts(?) but as I'm told both are good for sun damage in eyes I thought home grown would be rather better than bought. Looks like I'll be going for supplements instead.

Frank

Frank Report 30 Oct 2020 11:28

Mel and Island, THANKS for your positive remarks. It's nice to know I can vent my feelings without upsetting anyone.

Pam and Denis have had a MASSIVE conservatory built. Now the plaster's and electricians are here finishing off. before being decorated. Both Ros and I would love one, but on our pension, there is no way we could afford one. BUT it's nice to dream.

Ros is making a BOILD ONION ROLL for tonights dinner. Suet pastery, stewing beef, and onions, Wrapped up in Greaseproof paper, then in a clean tea towel, and boiled for a few hours. That will be a nice change, as we haven't had one for ages. Mashed potatoes, mashed swede, and cabbage. Won't want anything after that.

It has turned very chilly, which suited me, but now I need a JUMPER on, as I am going to read my book in the conservatory. It's a bit too chilly out there with our either the heating on or a jumper.

As I haven't eaten anything yet this morning, I might get Ros to make ne a coccee and a sandwich , with a little bag of crisps.

Just looked on "FACEBOOK" snd they are showing my dear departed Brother Bill, asking to request "A FRIEND" I have contacted FB and asked them to remove it.

See you soon. xxxx

FRank of course you can come on here for assurance and to vent your feelings any time. We all do it, as we get older we are not so surrounded by family and friends unfortunately. I too only have my OH and sometimes our lovely neighbour to talk to so do understand. As Island says no shame at all in needing help with mental health. You, like many of us have suffered this very strange year of Covid19 which has thoroughly disrupted all our lives and made many of us feel quite fearful. I hope the pills you were given and the reassurance of your lovely doctor will continue to help you.

Island supplements an be good when you can't get fresh so go for ir.

Well, once again my shopping was early, this time with no warning, half an hour early, I was just about ready for him but OH was only just up and wandering around with all his breakfast stuff just where I needed to get so it was a bit of a hastle at first. then he stayed out of my way until I had almost finished then devide his back was locking so I was needed to go and massage his back (through his clothes like physio does apparently. Then it was back to Tesco shop to finish ogg the non food stuff. I had one or two Christmas gifts in with the shopping including a lovel child on a unicorn set which was half price and just right for Inara.

apparently the reason he was early was because the previous person was unable to pay for their shopping. That confused me as I thought they wouldn't load it if you had not paid. All I could think was the card had been refused this morning. He said it was the second this week. Sad isn't it?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 30 Oct 2020 12:45

Boiled onion rll sounds nice frank can we come to dinnner please?

Mum used to make that but with bacon. I have made it in the past but not recently. Now I fancy one.................

Time for a pill before lunch so I better go and get it ready.

I had a walk up the border this morning and around the garden as I had left my two pronged fork up there and me kneeler stool thing. Both in the shed now out of the rain. I kept meaning to bring them down in the back of the car when I went out but forgot everytime I drove past them. Heads like a sive lately. :-(

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 30 Oct 2020 12:52

Ooh yes my Mum used to make suet bacon and onion roll, she would serve it with cauliflower and white sauce. Never cooked it myself though. Wouldn't be much good at the moment I would have to eat almost a whole one.

Luckily I spotted it so will get a refund but one of my eggs was cracked this morning. Would you cook and eat it? Not sure it was inside a plastic egg box. instinct says it would be ok to eat.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 30 Oct 2020 14:05

It would probably ok to eat if its cooked Anng. If I break one I micto it and feed it to the birds. Did one this morning as I put my finger through one yesterday whilst wiping it. Which reminds me its still in the micro.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 30 Oct 2020 14:08

Well we will see Mel, I cooked it in the microwave until the yolk was hard, it looked fine both before and after cooking so I ate it.

Frank

Frank Report 30 Oct 2020 14:54

Oh dear, I have been having the worst day ever. ATTACKS one after the other. I have been sitting out on the patio in the rain trying to keep COLD. I am getting in a right old state, I think Ros is getting fed up with me, she has just said "PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER" you can;t go on like this. With that she has gone of to TESCO to get a few bits plus my beer.

I had the job of inflating two of her tyres. The pump I have works of the car battery. I leave the engine running while I pump them up. Suddenly it went HAYWIRE and started deflating the tyre. Denis came to my rescue, with his. Between us we pumped up the tyres.

I honestly can't wait to see these people at the hospital next week. I will hope they can give me some help with these PANIC ATTACKS, as I can't go on much longer, with the stress they are putting on me and ROS.

Had a load of forms from the RAF Benevolent fund this morning, wanting more information. You would think I was asking for A MILLION QUID. instead of a part payment towards a motorbility scooter. I wonder whether it's worth all the trouble.

Have drunk about 10 bottles of water today, I would hate to think how many times I have beed to the toilet. ;-) ;-) ;-) The water Board will be putting up my charges with the amount of times I flush the loo. :-D :-D :-D

I don't know how I am going to eat all the food Ros has prepared for tonights Dinner. The Boild Onion Roll is very large, plus 4 different vegetables.. A small spoonful of each will be more than enough, as I have no appetite what so ever. I'm sure she won't be too pleased with me, but I can't eat for the sake of it.

If anyone wants to join us for tonights meal, there will be plenty to go round.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 30 Oct 2020 15:12

I have to say Frank I do feel for Tos, It is the same here, cook a meal and two mouthfulls get eaten, I have resorted on some evenings to suggest that OH chooses what he wants to eat before I cook anything. He will then probably have jacket potato with tuna mayo.
Frank have you checked that you can drink alcohol with the new tablets?
Good job Dennis was there then.

Annx Report 30 Oct 2020 17:28

Afternoon All,

Quite a dull morning and not much better now but I slept well which is good. We had to be up fairly early to take our scripts in which we had meant to do yesterday. We got fuel while we were out.

Frank I am glad the very kind doctor was able to reassure you and spend some time with you, as I know with how awful you feel and it is hard to be convinced that there isn't something very seriously wrong that they have missed! I would emphasise that the breathing technique is the best tool and do them as soon as you don't feel quite right, as the sooner you start doing them, the more likely it will become that you can stop the attacks escalating. Try to keep calm and remind yourself it can't last. The tablets will help but you need to practise all the advice you are given to distract your mind and control your breathing. As OH said, you have to work hard. Ignore Ros's comment about pulling yourself together. She doesn't understand what it is like, no-one does unless they've had them. I was so lucky that OH had had them in previous years too as he really understood. When I told him you were having them he said ' the poor chap'. We are here to listen and support/ help you if we can, so saying how you feel is good and none of us will mind one jot! If Ros goes out just remind her to keep her mobile on and you keep yours with you. It is unlikely to be needed but will give you more peace of mind.

Mel I think Dermot lives near Exeter, so not that far from you. You have reminded me I must fetch my ladybirds in for the winter!

Glad you liked the paintings Mandy. I was surprised how lifelike they eventually became! Have you seen that punched embroidery that is like rug making? I quite fancy having a go at a cushion sometime in the future.

I don't like the texture of Kale I've tried Island but have never tried the hearts which may be less chewy. Spinach is ok but I tend to throw it into stews where it just joins the general 'mix' of everything else but is still a healthy addition..

AnnG I used to buy trays of cracked eggs from a local farm when I was first married. We'd eat some straightaway, I would bake with some and freeze the rest. The farm ones would be very fresh though so I'm not sure about supermarket ones? Salmonella would be the biggest risk but hard boiling it should be ok. As I've said to Frank before AnnG he shouldn't be drinking alcohol at all anyway with panic attacks. I hope he isn't as it can bring them on or make them worse, but he aught to check his meds anyway as you say.

Well I have my homework sketched out ready to paint so will make a start tomorrow as I need good light. The washing has been dried inside as big black clouds kept coming over.

I've had a reminder for my eye test from Specsavers in the next village where I got my last specs from, but it is a very small shop so I'm going to book it at Boots on the retail park down the road. There is much more space in their opticians to not be so close to anyone.

My aunty Joy rang me this morning and I was on the phone almost an hour. She lost her little pus this week as it had cancer and now she has a £300 bill from the vets. She said an op would have been over £1,000. Joy had had her 6 years. She's had three cats now from the recue centre and they ahve all lived with her 6 years and she's had three dogs also living with her 6 years. All of them seems very strange. I asked her if she was going to get another as she lives on her own and she said she did'nt think so but I reminded her its someone to talk to and greet you when yu come in like Lily did. She said she would leave it a while and see how she feels a little later on. Its so sad when you lose a treasured pet. Joy is 85.

Frank I really think you should stay off the beers with the meds your on too. I hope you get some joy from the hospital appointment. My mum was in a mental hospital when I was in my teens and it was about Christmas time as she helped to decorate the wrad and she took to a young girl in there who would'nt eat.

Burger and chips tonight so I better get my skates on now.

Morning All

what a grey day!

No big blows forecast here just heavy rain and a 'fresh breeze' - what ever that is.
Not an outdoor day I guess.

Have a good day as best you can all
