One other thing Fi, maybe get it insured. I know it is worth more as sentimental value but it must also be worth a bit moneywise. Make sure you photograph it so it can be traced if lost or stolen.

I think actually in Law a thing lost REMAINS the propertyof the owner and anyone finding an object and makes no effort to return it to its RIGHTFUL OWNER is guilty of Larceny Finder .See a solicitor. Some give you a quarter hour free consultation.Best I can think of. I believe that it won't do him any good anyway. cisco kid

Thank you everyone, you have all been there for me when I was trying to make the decision about whether I should purchase it.

You are all right saying that I would have regretted it if I had not brought it from the ebay seller. I have been carrying it around with me ever since and showing it to friends and colleagues. They are all so pleased for me like you are.

Yes I was Fi and Angel back in about 4 years ago. Angel was my previous cat, now I have Lilly. Wheelie Spice came from a colleague I used to work with and now in effect do once again. If you want to see the watch I can post a link to it on FTF.

Fi :)

Fi,

Wonderful! Is this watch from your Lincolnshire branch?

Elisabeth

(Kathleen - yes, I think Fi is the Fi and Angel of those long ago days.)

Now there is one more thing you need to do. (Although the persons who had the watch before you may have). Take the watch to a reputable watchmaker and have it cleaned and serviced.

I know it is an added expense but the watchmaker should be able to tell you the history of the watch, and give you information about it, as well as tidying it up for you.

We just had an old clock repaired and the information which came back with it was quite surprising.

Great Grandfather and his wife died in 1933. I dont know where the children lived after this event in their young lives. My Grandmother was 13 when her parents died.

I love it!!!
