Jean (Monmouth) Report 14 Apr 2010 19:27

Have had my blood test results today and the infection seems to have cleared. Am anaemic and have to increase my ferrous sulphate tablets, and eat a little more salt as my salts are depleted. Still have to go for the scan though and maybe more tests after that as GP isnt happy with me. Saying that, my blood sugars are not quite as good as they usually are, but my cholesterol is 4.5. I knew my sugars wouldnt be good, because while I have had this bug, whatever it was, my twice daily tests have been very erratic. I have had hypos three nights running. Fortunately they wake me up because OH wouldnt notice!!

Hi Christine ,long time no speak lol.
My day flushes seem to have declined dramatically, but the night ones are still a pain at times.
Whats Spring Cleaning??????I remember mum doing it ,changing curtains etc,and a cobweb brush that came from Bett*ware.
Keep ringing the hospital.....you don't want to be lost.I hope it went well.

Morning everyone.I hope all is well with you ladies.Just wizzing through,on this lovely but chilly morning.
I had acupuncture done on my big toe joint (performed by my OH).It did make a difference .

I'm really sympathetic to all of you who have or are suffering these effects. My mother had a terrible time and my sister did too, and is still not quite out of the horrors.

I pretty much sailed through the whole thing. Expecting me to be like them, my doctor started me on HRT which I took for less than 2 months as it made me feel so bad. As soon as I stopped I was fine and still am.

Please do not think I am gloating, cause I'm absolutely not! I saw what Mum and big sister went through and counted my lucky stars every day (always waking up expecting it to really hit me like them).

Dizzie, my OH has been having that trouble for some time.
I.m sure it was on this thread that I read about rubbing your feet with Vick, to help a cold Well, I tried it last night. The cold is a lot better, but during the night I was wakened by my feet tingling and quite warm. This morning my feet feel really light and flexible. As a diabetic I suffer from feet that often feel like lumps of lead, so it has been really nice today to feel the response in them. Maybe try it on my back pain tonight! Then my favourite perfume will be Vick!!

I always have an itchy back PP lol.I don't know why.Just in the middle low down.I use a cream like E45 for itchy skin and find it does help.In fact I itch a lot at night and I think it because I get sweaty. There's nothing better than having a good scratch either lolol

Jane

Jane Report 10 May 2010 20:56

Another thing I find helps is to have one of those scratchy mitts in the shower.Gets rid of all the dead skin.
Christine I wasn't having a go lolol.I often miss posts, and then spot them later.
I am finding at the moment my night flushes are quite bad ,but the daytime ones are much improved.I do find though I am getting more succeptable (sp) to smells that really irritate my throat and bring me out in a sweat.Onions, anything spicy,my perfume even.I never used to have this problem. Also the pollen in the air is a problem .

I have a lotion applicator for the back which I got from Kl.......ze. You open the back and pour in your own lotion or cream. There ia a face with lots of little plastic balls let in, where the cream comes out and the balls help to massage it in. I find it a godsend, because OH is a bit heavy handed!
