I ws just wondering if any of you had read 'A Shepherd's Life' by W.H.Hudson. It is not a novel but more a collection of articles, one about Salisbury and the television series 'Bread or Blood' was based upon it. |

Sheila, I think that's the only novel I haven't read yet - must get round to it:) I wish I had some Dorset ancestors but I haven't got any:( I am a fan of his poetry too. |

I love Hardy, and I love 'his' Dorset (where a good number of my ancestors hailed from). We did 'Mayor of Casterbridge' for O-Level. I read 'Return of the Native' recently and loved that. Much of his poetry appeals to me too. |
