by sheer coincidence I've just cooked two beetroots.

It was heinz babyfood they are meant to be free from added colour.
Soon as he went on the white ones he was fine.

I thought that might be why.... but you can eat them if they are cooked, it would seem that this breaks down sommat or other in them... I have been cooking them for about 5-10 minutes longer than the quick dip they used to get... they need to be soft, but not soggy!

I know about cabbage, too ;¬))

Never knew that Christine.

My grandson went an orangy colour, i kept mentioning it to his mum and Dad. Wasnt till they had him at Dr for something else,and he sent them up to the hospital to get it checked out.

Turned out it was his baby food had 'tango'd' him lol

Christine, if that is what I think it may be for, it would seem that cauli and cabbage fall into the same category, but are ok if cooked.!!
