Yeah, my grampy is v special to me. When I was little (about 3 or 4) I wandered off and was missing for hours in the woods. My grampy, despite being quite poorly, searched and searched for me and he was the one who finally found me.
Boy was I relieved to see him - so relieved i wet myself all over him!! Bless him, he always reminds me of it.

Thanks to all for your concern and messages of support - it really really helped.

xx

Watcha Squiggle.

I have had trouble with the internet all day and only just got back on and came straight here to catch up on your news.

I am so glad Grampy is safe and well - although he probably has a headache now either from drinking last night or getting an ear bending from you!

I was really worried for both him and you but all is well that ends well.

My grandparents on my father's side both died before I was born so myself and my brothers never knew them. My maternal grandmother died when my mum was only six. My grandad married again soon afterwards so the only grandparents I had were my maternal grandfather and a step-nan. Grandad died back in late 80's so I, like you, was left with a step-nan but she meant the world to us all. We sort of lost her about two years ago when at 82 she had a stroke and remained in a vegetative state until 10 days ago when she passed away.

Please, for me, carry on treasuring your grampy, they are very special people.

Glad all is well.

I am so glad you are in touch with him again and that he is safe and well....

.....as for mobile phones, my MiL is 88 and she has to get someone around her to talk on the phone as she cannot hear what people are saying.....

Julia, some older folks are quite fearful of technology - tho there are some on here that are geriatric computer whizzkids. lol.

Thanks Karen. Yes, Margaret. I think having the support on here stopped me going crazy last night.
I think he would laugh if he knew folks from all over the country and even further afield were worrying about where he was!!

What a relief.....Wouldn't it be a laugh if he knew just how many people were worried about him. Isn't it nice that you could share it with so many syber friends, I'm sure it helped to have people to share it with.
All the best to you and grampa.

I know, Ann. He's only 65 which is in no way old! (He was Nan's second husband and is only 8 years older than my Dad)

I am pleased he is OK.
Although I had to chuckle because reading about him I got the impression he was 'old', then I realised he is 2 years younger then me!

Thanks all.
Betty, he just can't (or won't) get to grips with his mobile. I've told him just to keep it charged and take it out with him - but it's still in the box, in the cupboard, under a load of stuff. I'm sure he thinks it's some kind of voodoo device! lol.

Oh what a relief for you squiggle, and how wonderful that you love your Grampy so much.

I just loved all my Grandparents, and look back on our wonderful times together.
