Ooh, I have a Jade pendant too. Him indoors bought it for me in Singapore. It has a dragon (tastefully) carved into it. I'm a lover of anything that's a bit unusual. And chunky. It HAS to be chunky.

;o)

I think I would have to say Emeralds, I love the coloured diamonds and you can never lose money but Emeralds are just so awesome and I'm not really a green person..

I do have a seed pearl and peking glass vintage necklace that I love and for some odd reason it's worth more than jade...

Well, I have two emerald rings (as well as my ruby engagement ring etc.) BUT after waiting nearly thirty years I now have my diamond pendant.
My dear (but forgetful!) husband promised me one when I had our first child (I have had two!) and that was thirty years ago! I have been working on him all this time, and when I spotted just the one in a shop in Winchester, he went in and got it for me for Christmas.
I haven't taken it off yet!

Dame - The stone's not called "Taj Mahal", I don't quite know what it is, I think it may well be a (black) sapphire. But it was bought in a shop near to the Taj Mahal.

India's the most amazing place. It's not somewhere I ever thought of going, that is until my husband was sent to work there for 18 months! I loved every single minute of it, the people are just the most friendly, helpful & humble you are ever likely to meet.

The sights are incredible, the noise can be deafening on occasion, but best of all......

......the jewellery's BEAUTIFUL!

Happy b-day Opthelia hope it was wonderful...

H, I have never heard of a "Taj Mahal" it sounds very interesting, some of the old star sapphires look black and they are aslo very nice...Love fire opals what an array of colour, I'd love to go to India just to see the jewelry lol...

Happy birthday Opthelia.

I'm a ruby (July birthday) but love emeralds. Mum bought all us girls (5 sisters & 3 grandaughters!) a Claddagh ring from Dublin with an emerald in.

I have a GORGEOUS and really unusual set diamond engagement ring that my husband bought me in India. I also bought some beautiful jewellery in India, a ring with a black stone in, which the man in the shop near the Taj Mahal, called "star of india" due to the fact that when the light catches it, it gets a little star shape reflection in it. Don't know if it was a con, but it's very pretty nonetheless!

I also bought a massive fire opal pendant and matching bracelet, and a gorgeous orangey-coloured, glittery, sandstone pendant and matching bracelet in Bangalore. I'm wearing them now actually!

I'm very interested in gems most of them are very beautiful even if they do have inclusions..I treated myself a few years ago to a purple sapphire set with diamonds being as I am in the purple birthday zone...
Tanzanite has become very expensive but I do like the real bluey purple shade...Some stones are supposed to be bad luck or have mystical powers lol I havn't seen mine do any tricks yet thou..

Peridot is that stone.
My cousin's birthstone. Her birthday is 16th August.
And sons can get married - and can get divorced - so my niece and my first granddaughter will get some good stuff.
