Yes - familysearch.org has the International Genealogical Index (IGI). Submitted records are worth noting if there is an address by which to contact the submitter. I did this once and the person replied quickly with wonderful verified information. |

The FamilySearch website has the IGI records on it, a bit like Ancestry has the Census records on it. |

Yes, it is. It's best to rely on the exracted records rather than the submitted ones. Extracted ones are from parish records. Submitted ones are often wishful thinking. |
