Where have you tried so far, so we dont duplicate searches. Its a very unusual surname and yet no Matildas are coming up on ancestry. I guess possibly mistranscribed. Where have you seen them together please. |

What address does it say he was born at? Is it possible that what appears to be Hulf could be read as another name? |

Did you know she was a Norfolk girl? On the actual birth cert does it actually say Matilda Hulf or Matilda Austin formerly Hulf? |

Good point Heather - if they never actually married, she could still have called herself Matilda Austin formerly Hulf on the birth certificate. Nobody would know she wasn't married to the father if she didn't say. |
