I have just put a thread on the general board, someone sent a 'request to see your tree' message to me. On my tree I use my married name, as my dad was adopted and I am not researching his adopted family.
When I replied, I noticed that there were quite a few 'Requests to see my tree' to me - and from me, all concerned with the name I use on my tree!!
Obviously I haven't contacted anyone with the same name as my married name so it must be a GR glitch!!

Hi Lost,
I don't use my married name in real life either, and my name on the boards is where I live, so it's not a problem really, and have changed certain ancestor's names to ****
Just looked at 'My contacts' and every one of them have apparently sent me a 'Request to view your tree' message - even if they have access to my tree.
It this isn't a glitch, I don't know what is LOL

I just want to add (I think!) that when the GR change of format happened I recievd a request to see my tree from someone I had contacted many months previously asking if he was related to a specific name (he wasn't).

The message was a request to see my tree, to which i replied that that branch of my tree is not on here (but gave him details)

My point is that I HAD made contact with that person initially possibly 8 months or so ago, but had forgotten him entirely......might some of these problems occuring now involve contacts from way back like this?

Hope regardless of the cause you get it sorted out. I am not a computer buff so all my tree is down on paper rather than here.......makes more mess, but no chance anyone can see it or nick it without my permission!
