Please could anybody help me find the birth details of my nan Mary Ann Bright. Her marriage cert gives her DoB circa 1893. Her father was George. She lived in London when she married. I'm not a member of ancestry and I am totally stuck !!! |

What is her father's occupation on the marriage certificate? It might help locating her on the 1901 census. |

This is the only Mary Ann Bright birth I can find in 1893, but you would need to check the census first to see if you can find the family to see where they were living. This one is registered in Kent:- |

Margaret, I had seen that in 1901 census but, of course DoB does not tally. Could either be wrong ? Any ideas. I dont know where she was born so I will prob get the birth cert above. But how will I know whether it is actually her or not ? What about her death cert ? She died Mary Ann Soilleux c 1972. That would clarify her DoB wouldnt it ? |

You can check what places Blean covers here:- |

You could order the birth certificate and give the father's name as George as a checking point, so you don't get the certificate if the father's name is something else. |

Wow ! That bit about lying about father being deceased ! Her age on cert is 22 but if that census entry is her she would only be about 18 ! |

When was the marriage - because you said that her age on there would make her date of birth 1893? |

There is no Mary Ann Bright registered in the middle two quarters on 1897. There is one Mary Bright (no middle name) registered in the June qtr. in Lewisham. |
