I've finally got round to ordering a certificate on line (from the 1837 site) and it requests the date of death, I've only got the quarter and year. How did anyone else get around this please? June,Nr.Preston.Lan.

You only need to complete the fields with a red star next to them. The other fields are optional. I ordered a death certificate last week with no date of death (just the quarter and year) and it came no problem earlier this week.

Thanks Angela and Janet for your replies. I managed to get it accepted (I was putting too much information in), added to my basket successfully, then tried to pay and the error page came up, now I have to wait to see if I get an Email message accepting my payment. So I've decided to leave it 24 hours and start again. Once again thanks for your help. June,Nr.Preston.Lan.
