I am unable to trace birth entries for my grandfather ALFRED BOOM born circa. 1877 or indeed his siblings who were all born in East Shadwell, London. His father, JOSEPH (born in Germany) married MARIA (?) but there's nothing registered even though I think she was English. The only entry I can find for the family as a whole is on the 1891 census where I learned what I have just mentioned. I have tried LDS and Freebmd to no avail....where do I go from here!!! Any help for this beginner would be gratefully received!! Aileen x

Thank you Crista!!! You are a star!!! Alfred is my granddad and those are his siblings. I've been searching so hard to find them and it's my birthday today so this is like a pressie! How did you do it? I wouldn't have thought of that spelling. Is there any way you can help me find Alfred's birth reference, please? Aileen x

Aileen, Found Alfred in the 1881 by searching on Alfreds born in 1877 in London. He was at the top of the list. Could have narrowed it down further by adding Joseph as the head of the household too. Found the births just by using the first names only with rough years. Crista

Thank you Crista..46 today! I've just told my husband that the rellies have been found and he is trying so hard to show enthusiasm!!!...He hates all this rellie-busting stuff!! Right, there is Martha and Alfred who we now know about then there is JOSEPH jnr. JOHN AMELIA WILLIAM BENJAMIN Don't know if there were others born as these were entered on the 1891 census and were living in Tucker Street at the time Aileen

One more thing, There's this: Births Mar 1853 Wright Caroline Maria St Geo East 1c 426 This might be Caroline Maria. There weren't too many Caroline Maria's born around this time on FreeBMD. If you get one of the children's birth certificates you will know for sure. Crista
