Hi I think I have found my grandfather, Edward Chapman, on the death register for July - Sept 1946. The district is 'Surrey Mid. L.' - does anybody know what area this district covered? Thanks in advance, Karen

The district is Surrey Mid Eastern. If you go to FreeBMD and highlight the district and enter a common surname (I did Smith) it will come up with a Surrey Mid Eastern entry which you can click on to find out about the areas covered. There are quite a lot which is why I'm not listing them!!

The original register office closed in 1965 and the registers were moved to Sutton, Carshalton, Croydon, Merton, or Kingston. May give you an idea of area covered.
