Thanks for the offer. I'm seeking information on a Robert Tyler, born c1796 Lincolnshire, particularly his marriage c1822 to a Christiana, possibly at Wellingore. Also any info on her. The marriage of William Everitt c1851/2 in Boston, Lincs to Mary Ann Brough, their ages, parents etc. Would be very grateful for anything.

hi geoff havent managed to find much so far, still looking for you tho. i did find this, record of a mary ann brough marriage, havent been able to find who the groom was tho. no record of william marriage as yet. this is what i have so far Name: Brough, Mary Ann Record Type: Marriages Quarter: March Year: 1851 District: Ashton under Lyne County: Cheshire Lancashire Volume: 20 Page: 3 (click to see others on page) will keep looking and let you know if i find any more julie

Sorry, Wellingore is in Lincs. There is a possibility (from IGI) that Robert Tyler was born in Timberland (also Lincs) in 1796 but I can't really assume it's him just because he exists. Re the Everitt/Brough marriage - it isn't on FreeBMD so it won't be in the BMD list on Ancestry I imagine.

if ancestry contains the 1901 scottish census then could you possibly search for a john james dale of dufmries and a jane sloan of dumfries (or thereabouts)? both would have been very young children at the time of the census as far as i can tell. any info on parents would be a great help thanks lianne

karen your dates are conflicting, john born 1929 but frances born 1830 - can you let me know which is right julie

Julie

Julie Report 18 Feb 2004 21:56

karen ok, i went on the assumption that johns dates should have been 1829/30 rahter than 1929 and i found - on the 1891 census in morpeth frances brady (widow) aged 60 living at 229 Dacre Road with her 2 sons, ralph aged 24 and george aged 20. death record which would make him born in the right year Name: Brady, John Record Type: Deaths Age at death: 60 Quarter: December Year: 1890 District: Morpeth County: Durham Northumberland Volume: 10b Page: 219 (click to see others on page hope this helps a bit let me know if you would like me to send you the census sheet julie

Hi Karen, how can you look up the parish records if you dont know which county they came from? It is very difficult.

Julie

Julie Report 18 Feb 2004 22:55

im sorry ladies the irish info isnt as good on ancestry as i first thought, the names aer coming up but no dates or any clues as to wether they are the right people. i know doing irish trees is difficult, my mums side is irish and the local priest over there did hers for us, he managed to go back about 120 years but it was hard work trawling thru all the parish records etc. I know i have read on one of the boards here some good links for doing irish research, im trying to find the messages again, if they havent disapeared off the last message page. will keep looking for you all julie
