Does anyone have a website for the London Orphan School. On the 1841 census it is called the St John Hackney London Orphan Asylum. Thanks Elizabeth

www.fegans.org.uk between 1870 and the mid 1980's in excess of 7,400 boys and 270 girls came into the care of Fegans, some were shipped to Canada. Fegans had homes in various locations, including Ramsgate in Kent. There are a lot of London orphans at homes on the Kent coast in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Sea air was thought to be good for them

Infant Orphan Asylum, Wanstead Essex, later became the Royal Wanstead School. This has a site - www(.)avoca(.)ndirect(.)co(.)uk and follow link to RW school. There is an email link to a very helpful archivist if you are looking for info on ancestors at either the school or the earlier orphanage.
