Just put a post on General board for this.............. Please be warned that there are supposed to be roadworks starting in Maidstone on Saturday, on the one-way system near to the venue. Give yourself a little extra time in case of hold ups.

Jacqueline - you wont recognise the place - it's changed alot in the 18 years I've been down here. There a lots of hotels in the area - not that I could give you the names off the top of my head - why not try a 'search' on Google or the like for 'hotels maidstone kent' - bound to get something. Good luck.....

Hi there, I am hoping to come to the Fair on Sunday. Does anyone have suggestions of where to stay around Maidstone? We will come over the Dartford Crossing and down the M20. Things have probably changed since I lived there in the early 1970s, before moving to Yorkshire. Yours Jackie

Sylvia - not sure what the arrangements are to-date. See Lynda Pace's thread on General Topics - I believe that she may be coordinating that side of things.

Hi Anne, I will be going next Sunday, looking forward to meeting you all. I'd like lunch too!! Is there a stall that's not too busy? At the fair in Chatham, Maz suggested the Black Sheep stall, which worked quite well, as it was not the most crowded one. What about the Romany stall at 12md if that's a quietish one? Sue

I'll try to make it too, even though I'm the first in my family (that I know of) to live in Kent. Might give me a few hints to knock down those brick walls... Carole

Helen - parking is plentiful! If you haven't been to Maidstone in a long while, I doubt you'll even regonise it now LOL. The Lockmeadow complex is on the site of the old Market - now multi-screen cinema and loads of restaurants. After you pass the the law courts, with the complex directly ahead, turn left into carpark for David Lloyd sports centre, then you get into the carpark which is under the complex - I doubt that you'll miss so dont worry :)
