I went on worldconnect only to find that someone from THIS site has added my gt grandfather and my grandfather to the wrong person!!! This was not a mistake, I have contacted him about it previously.

Thanks Ann. I had loads of rellies in one village and didn't know who was who. This site has put me back on track to trace the blood line and loads more information on their siblings etc. Angie

Thank you, thank you - checked out this site and I am thrilled to bits almost the first person I found was the son of a cousin I have not heard from for more years than I care to remember. Have emailed him, so fingers crossed who knows what news I will have. Grave R

I tried it last night and received an e-mail back from my 6th cousin once removed. (think thats what she is!)

A word of caution on this site. My Shipley family,or part of it, is on there. This is because I made contact with a distant cousin in Australia and exchanged information. I have no objection to his placing the info on this site, but I have to say that he has made a few errors on the way!! My grandfather was born in Coundon,DURHAM, not Warwick!! I didn't check all the details, but there are likely to be other errors as with all transcriptions, so don't take it as gospel truth. Wendy

I've just been on this site and put in a couple of names. They have come up but it is all information that I entered myself and uploaded to Ancestry World Tree. Naomi

Pat, you mightn't be finding any family, but I'm sure you have lots of new friends sharing an interest in family trees. This site has so many lovely caring & sharing people on it. Karen

I've found several of my ancesters on the site but I can't contact the people who entered them on the site to find out more in formation and tell them what I have, anyone know how to contact them, I've tried direct email but they have been returned. Thanks Cherryl

I put my tree on world connect a few months ago and have had a couple of notes of interest.I have put my tree or posted interests on lots of different sites,you never know which ones people look at.Try not to get disheartened Ann,I'd been doing my family history for 22 years before I got in contact with someone who was related-a 4th cousin.There are so many people doing it now that it's only a matter of time before you are contacted by someone.Just think of all the satisfaction you have from doing all the work yourself. Hello everyone, This site is free to upload your own tree by gedcom file. I did mine a while ago and I've found a new contact through it. I know theres a lot of americans on there but if we all put our british trees on too we might have a better chance of finding our relatives. Just a thought

Tried it, absolute rubbish, in spite of 415 verifyable names in my tree I'm related to no-one! Even worse than GC!

Louise, LOL. Some of the Names on my tree are: Holden, Evitts, Silvester, Piper, Hart, Johnson, Farrell, Devine, Hardman, Calland. The nightmare of them all my great grandmother Isabella Whilding (as she spelt it) and all the Wilding's I cannot find anywhere. Pat x

I just got really excited on this site, I typed in my name (theres not many people spell it my way), and it appeared with spouse Living Wood, ex Hubbys surname, I thought who is this then with all this info, 'my' parents weren't listed so I thought it must be from my exes side, until I clicked on 'his' parents name, and it wasn't them, still gave me a bit of excitement for a few minutes, LOL!

I cannot understand it, I think I must be one of the unluckiest people. None of mine there. Not new for me, never can find anyone anywhere, even on this site no one wants to see my tree, no one has ever contacted me about connections only one person was interested in any of my names. I emailed one person very early on in starting my search they didnt bother to answer me. I am really feeling left out of everything. Actually feeling very sorry for myself today, must be something to do with hormones.LOL: Pat x
