hi all, a update for anyone odering these certs. I have receiveda letter today telling me that there is a back log due to a high demand for certs, waiting time is 10/12 weeks.Was looking forward to receiving my cert as well. (liverpool register office). Helen |

I send for mine to Southport and there isn't a long waiting list there, its usually just over a week. |

I would defintely get them from the GRO in Southport, my last one was ordered at the end of April and arrived about a week later. 10/12 weeks is far too long to wait!! Sam x |

wish it was for me , i sent for it over the weekend (9th may) ,they are still holding my fee.Hope my other cert comes, but am now having doubts about it |

I ordered online on Tuesday and they should be despatched Monday 10-12 weeks is incredible - even longer than the GRO was taking after the Who Do You boom |

hi all, you may think i'm a pain ,but have just phoned liverpool about the certs. Guess what answer is still the same, anyone wanting certs for family history have to wait up to 12 weeks. you can guess just just how i'm feeling now , gutted |

thank you gloria, i need it . i didnt think i would have to wait so long for then.even if i sent some one in for it they said it would be a 12 week wait |

Another backlog! I thought they had sorted it! I hate to be rude, but this is ridiculous! I hate to say it, but I wish it wasn't a popular hobby, I liked it when it wasn't! LOL |

I wish I'd known that sooner! I sent off for some yesterday via the Office for National Statistics. Their email says they've processed my payment so maybe I'll be lucky. The last lot arrived in 9 days which I thought was brilliant as I'm in the States! |

Helen Can you cancel your payment and go elsewhere? I was gutted recently to discover that Greater Manchester RO are no longer issuing certs for Family History purposes, and what's more, you can no longer go into the Office and wait! Seems to me the Govt is losing a valuable source of Revenue here - surely they could take on temporary Staff on a casual basis to deal with this - it would pay for itself and I for one would LOVE to work in a Registry Office! yes, i order one online and have being given the dispatch date off the 13th May, so hopefully i'll know over the weekend if i get it, if so then i'll cancel and order online for the one i want |

I used to send to Liverpool, but the waiting is just too long..if at all!! Last week i sent off for 5 certs and they arrived today..i was really impressed. Also no need for sae and cheques. It was very easy to use and i will be sending for all my certs via Southport. I was told that in the future we will be able to get certs via pc and at a fraction of the price!! Cant wait for that day..although by then i will have every cert i need! |

Hi All, Just to let you all know that the cert i ordered online came this morning from southport, so i'm a happy bunny. So i'm going to cancel the one from liverpool and order online. Heres a happy bunny, hop hop and a jump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
