Genealogy Chat

I have loads of old phots of ancesters,some I know most I don't. I think it would be nice if we could have some place on genes to be able to share them.I know we can add photos to our trees but not every one gets to see them.Also I thought it would be good if we could put photos on of where we live.I've been on a number of sites to look for old photos of my village but can never find any.I think it would be nice to have another thread to trawl through.If you like the idea fill in the survey on home page and ask for it. Great idea - I think it is something we could all benifit from. Good ideas come from members but nothing seems to happen with them like putting details of birth , marriage and death certificates. I hope this idea is followed up. Good Luck Irene

Yes Angie great idea please get in touch with genes team or start a petition as I have put a few on the photo page but would love them to be seen by everyone as they are so precious and have so much history involved with them Regards Lara

If people are really interested I will put idea forward. This site is already great but I think it has the potential to be even better if people's suggestions were taken into account. The people on this site know what they want from it. Angie x

Hi Angie I think it's a very good idea to have photographs on this site - after all, you can put your photo on Friends Reunited and it's the same group of companies. There is a good site that has old photographs on it - www.curiousfox(.)com which someone else has just put up a thread about. Mandy :)

Brill idea - I particular for photos where we have a name for the photo subject but have no idea who they are!! (of which I have dozens and dozens lol) You know how on the backs of old photos it sometimes gives the studio name and the number of the image and proudly says a copy can be had at any time!! Does anyone know any old negatives from any Victorian photographers have ever survived?? I have always assumed the answer would be NO, but there's some very knowledgeable people on this site who might know if I'm wrong......... Sarah
