And in 1861 we have James' full name... James Lewis Dunn, still at the same address but his birthplace is given as Gloucestershire. Mary E's age 37, birthplace West Indies, Barbados. It should be easy enough to find their marriage now we have James' full name (assuming they married in England!), but I can't see it on FreeBMD, probably not transcribed yet. Of course, it is possible that Mary is James' second wife, as there is a 5-year gap between two of the children in 1861. Anyway, somewhere in the GRO indexes I hope you will find James Lewis Dunn's marriage, but if it is not on FreeBMD I guess you would have to get the certificate to find out Mary's maiden name. Kate.

ALTER, hope these help GRO regimental birth indices 1761-1924. CATHERINE DUNN bermuda 1836 regiment 30th vol 1133 page 55. ARMY RETURNS births 1796-1880. CATHERINE DUNN Bermuda 1836-37 page 80. CATHERINE DUNN Bermuda 1836-37 page 74. JANET ELIZABETH 1875-76 page 197. JOHN 1834 Bermuda page 123. JOHN 1825 BERMUDA page 145. JOHN 1834 BERMUDA page 127. JOSEPH 1840-43 page 65. No sign of Mary but the Joseph looks promising, this is just to let you see there were Dunns in bermuda at the right time, these were all taken from the overseas index on 1837online a lot are free because they are difficult to read,...MOE!

I hate to say this after all your hard work, Moe, but unless Mary's maiden name was Dunn as well as her married name, er...?! Kate.
