Me too, FC lol Just realised there is a Pheobe in the last 'forrister' Family I found and James the son also has a daughter Pheobe, so with any luck we have cracked it! Sorry not his daughter, his wife lol You know what these ancestors are like for following name patterns pmsl Lib:)) *********************************** As MC said if you get birth cert for James it will give you more details. This looks like James Birth ref: FORRESTER, James Record Type: Births Quarter: June Year: 1862 District: Stoke upon Trent County: Staffordshire Volume: 6b Page: 158 (click to see others on page)

AAAARRRRRGGH! Why can't they have been more original in their choice of names? So if I have this sorted right: Ellen Forrester may/maynot have married a James Forrester (hopefully not related because there were a lot of Forresters in Staff.). There is indeed a possible James/ Ellen Forrester marriage listing in 1861. She had a son James in 1862 and married a James Hinks later on, as James Forrester died around 1868. James, the son, married Phoebe Allen in 1890. They had 6 kids (their first Ellen died within a year of birth :o( ) before James died in 1991- just before the census and my grandfather, William was born. Thanks for all the help guys, Gail

Hi Gail, That sound right, if the birth certificate does give her maiden name as Forrester too it is more than likely the right marriage and that would hopefully give you different fathers for each of them. Good luck and hopefully Lib and I have found the right families as well. Have to admit I was a bit worried when I saw a Ellen and James Forrester in the same house the same age!!! I think Lib cleared that one up nicely though. lol Fiona.

It had me 'concerned ' too ;O) Maybe brother and sister James and Phoebe were twins. I will let you know what I find out from the cert. Next I tackle the Haighs..... Hugz, Gail
