Also don't forget, even if Edwin said his dad was also Edwin when he married in 1880, it doesn't mean that was true!!!! Many people prefered to hide their illegitimate status by making up a dad's name when they married. if you were a man yourself, then the most obvious name to give would be your own name!! Hence he was registered as a Rodds, but for proprietys sake, was called Rose???? Best to buy the birth cert to try and start sorting this out! (Oh, I see you have ordered it - can't wait!!!) Merry
