Hi, Can anyone help on two matters. One is a birth happening in 1920 (Date of birth is 3-5-1920 in Lambeth area). And second is regarding a surname sounding like Womb..... If anyone can help thanks to you Steve

Why do I feel I should understand your message, but I don't??!!!! Is the birth you are after in 1920 the one with the partial surname???? You could look for it on Family Relatives. Search just the one quarter and with surname ''Womb%'' and the program will pick up any entries that fit. if you know the first name that will reduce the results. Maybe this isn't what you mean though? Merry

Hi, Sorry forgot to add the names. The birth in 1920 is for a Ken(neth?) Bristow. And the surname is Womb or something... Steve

His mother had a surname sounding like Womb, I am hoping it is as his mothers maiden surname. Steve

Heather Report 30 Nov 2005 14:19

Where did you get that exact birth date from?

Steve

Steve Report 30 Nov 2005 15:43

Someone told me his exact date of birth. He died in Dec 1981 so it was told. Maybe if we can check that, maybe that would clear some things..... Steve

Hi Steve, If they had children you could search for the birth cert ref of one which would give the mother's maiden name. It would only be on a pay to view site, though Gwynne

Steve Report 30 Nov 2005 16:32

Well... i can't really do that. Not just yet. If someone is kind enough to do Dec 1981 (whatever quarter that emcompasses) for a death, then thanks to anyone. Steve

Steve Either someone's telling you porkies, or when you've taken his age from the year of his death you can't add up. The Kenneth Bristow that died Dec Qtr 1981, Greenwich Vol 12 Page 1373 (the only kenneth Bristow that qtr) quite clearly shows his date of birth as being 3rd may 1928 - therefore sending everyone on a wild goose chase. As an update - looked up the birth for this Kenneth Bristow - don't think its yours - Birth is June Qtr 1928 West Derby Vol 8b, Pg 649 mothers name is Antrobus. who gave you the duff information? Regards Looby

Hi Heather Am I right in thinking that we've maybe looked for this before and that someone was quite rude to Merry about it? Regards Looby

Hi, Sorry guys and girls. I don't know what to say except thank for any look-ups or info passed. Someone is telling me something, I suspect dodgy info. I suspect Kenneth Bristow's sister Lily or Lilian/Lillian was born around 1920-1930. I suspected Ken was same. I never had the death of Ken to go on (GRO wise anyway), one of these dates must be right. All I had was born Lambeth 3-5-1920 died Dec 1981 and Ken Bristow. Mothers name sounds like woomb/womb, whatever that is LOL Looby Someone is telling me porkies I am sure, or mis information or... I don't know what The source I got it from was the sister of Ken Bristow. My aunties mother. Thanks all Steve

Merry

Merry Report 30 Nov 2005 18:54

Is she Ken's full sister??? If she is then presumably she knows her own birth details?? Look up her birth record and the mother's maiden name should be the same as for Ken. At least you would know what you are looking for then. Merry
