You could wait until 1841 census is around, or you could order the birth cert of one of the children as it would have his name and occupation on it. nell

Merry

Merry Report 4 Feb 2006 19:11

Best way is to buy the birth cert of one of the children. This will give you the mother's maiden surname and help you to trace the right marriage. Births Dec 1847 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DEAN Lewis Hackney 3 206 Merry

Has anyone heard of the name Danay before? I cant find her on the census after 1851 now!! Thanks

a) no one knows when the 1841 will come, there are rumours about Easter, but nothing definite. It's at the records offices on microfilm if you can't wait! b)Danae was a Greek nymph or something. I did think that perhaps it was a mistranscription of Fanny, but it looks like a D on the image. c) since she was born 1831 she was quite probably married by 1861. nell

Possibly this is her, I see the transcriber has had two stabs at her name 1852 Jun Marriages Hackney Volume: 1b Page: 379 Bohn, Mary Ann Dean, Dencey Dean, Deucey Heath, Joseph SMEED, Thomas

Dency married Joseph: 1861 Hackney St John Middlesex Joseph Heath abt 1831 Lambeth, Surrey Head Densey Heath abt 1832 Clapton, Middlesex, Wife Joseph Heath abt 1853 Clapton, Middlesex, Son Frederick Heath abt 1856 Clapton, Middlesex,Son Fanny Heath abt 1859 Clapton, Middlesex, Daughter

Carly Presumably the 1881 Heath children are Dency's. Her mother wouldn't change her surname because her daughter got married. nell
