Well I'll probably be going on Thursday, but if you want to put in a request for someone to look it up before that,I won't be offended!!!! And if you've got anything else from there I've always got time for a couple more?

Andrea

Andrea Report 11 Mar 2006 15:30

Right it's Oldham St Mary I'll have a look for you, then you'll know from the ages if it's them? Unless you want to do it yourself, are you near Manchester?

Hi Andrea Found it on free bmd, Dec q 1878 Oldham. If I remember correctly. Just read the next bit of your thread, It is the above, volume 8d, page 817 for the GRO, not that it helps locally as I understand? Thank you for your kind offer, that would be lovely!

Lisa Just remember in future that GR always crunches the first message, so the way forward is to put your thread title and then a short message like 'See below'. Then add your full message as a reply to your own thread. Cut and paste is dead easy - my son showed me how when he was 8! It's click and drag to highlight the bit you want, then control +C to cut and control + V to paste. nell who is ashamed to say her husband told her about Control + F for find after she'd spent MONTHS trawling through lists of names!!!

Andrea Her surname is Rothwell which ties in with a marriage in 1878, but I just can't find them in 1881. Thought about ordering the marriage cert but I still have no idea if it's the correct family.

Andrea

Andrea Report 11 Mar 2006 15:10

If you got Harolds birth cert what is his mums maiden name?

Tin Fields

Tin Fields Report 11 Mar 2006 15:06

Hi Andrea, That's the family I have thought until now was the right one, but 1881 James is unmarried which blows my certificate as he should have married in 1878. This is the only line I am struugling with.......

(it's now in your mouse)<<<<this is how it was explained to me and an easy way to think of it) Then delete it and replace it with...'see below...' Post it....then reply to your own thread and paste it in. Hey ho!...GR stuffed! lol Gerri x
