Paul.... that doesn't get rid of PC belly that just gives you aching neck, shoulders and back to add to all the other genealogist's ailments. Jean x.

Here's an excellent excercise regime. Go down to the Family Records Centre on Islington and spend a couple of hours lifting those massive ledgers off shelves, flicking through them, putting them back on the shelves.... and doing this time and time again.

YES! You book a two week holiday in ...say...Cypress... Have a tummy tuck (1/3 of the price you pay here) and spend the best part of the two weeks getting a tan to hide the scar :-)) In my dreams!!!!! :-(( PS...my friends just returned with the flatest tum you could ever wish for.....just over £2000. Thats 285ish certs.

Valerie My problem is when I combine my two addictions genealogy and chocolate. There's nothing quite like sitting at the computer with a cup of tea and a bar of chocolate. I'm trying to cut out the chocolate though as it's no good for the waistline. I afraid I can't say the same for genealogy - I'm too truly addicted. I doubt now that I'll ever be cured! Rachel

I thought you had a rogue ancestor who was a policeman when I read that heading! Ive not only got a fat belly and bum, RSI but I get terrible throbbing in my legs - I keep worrying about DVT. Oh and my poor eyes - I wonder how those poor sods back at the census office coped.

Rachel you mean there is a place like that with no Computers , it must be very boring !!!! I dont come on here as much as most as I also sell on Ebay , and I have to pretend to do Housework too.And then I find myself reading all the other threads and getting absolutely nothing done again .I say to myself now dont look at the boards but find myself drifting into them. So yes you are right I am addicted.Still its better than being a Gambler isnt it ????

Valerie I don't think that there is a cure - you're a genealogy addict. Perhaps you should go into rehab - somewhere where theres no computers. Rachel :-)

Merry Report 6 May 2006 22:59

Pete, I am NOT going to the VETS to sort this difficult problem, so I've taken the shade off the hall light and trimmed it a bit................. I think it's quite fetching.............I can still see the wine though Thank goodness....I need it on GR!! LOL), but any plate in front of me is out of my new eyeline, so that should help quite a lot! (**makes note to clear freezer of pizza and icecream**) Merry

Would you believe that I have hurt my coccynx from too much time on the 'puter! I have to coax myself to get up from the chair because it is so painful! Thing is though, I am also studying so unavoidable but maybe I wouldn't take so long with my assignments if I didn't keep flicking between them and family research! (Family research is alot more interesting than my study but at least I may have more of a social life if I was more disciplined!) xx

Merry, You know when the vet wants your pet hound to not munch at the stitches he's carefully done in pet dog's paw - he fit pet dog with a lampshade-type collar. Hmmmmmmmmm ........... Now, if correctly fitted you'd still be able to view the screen, perhaps you'd no longer be able to view the glass (or at least the top up bottle). After a month of that the PC belly is sure to shrink. Pete

Doh, Thanks Reggie........there....fixed! (now if you could sort out how to stop me looking down and seeing the PC belly........) Teresa, I feel better knowing you are not sitting up straight at home! I still think whalebones are the answer..... Merry (who has never set foot in a gym!)
