Your very welcome Lisa ......... a pleasure. Just to end found this whilst googling: Parish Registers Parish records for Saddleworth are generally well preserved. Registers for St Chad's date back to 1613, although entries are incomplete until 1720, with many gaps. In addition there are smaller registers, dating from the mid-eighteenth century, for daughter churches at Friarmere (St Thomas), Dobcross (Holy Trinity), and Lydgate (St Anne). Non conformist registers exist from about 1780, the most notable being the Independent Chapel, Delph. (Now in the Saddleworth Historical Society archives). Saddleworth parish records are also reasonably accessible, having been transcribed and archived a number of times. Of particular note is the existence of a transcription (often known as the Radcliffe Registers, after its editor, John Radcliffe). This transcription also includes helpful additional notes on some entries, cross-references to other register entries, and references to monumental inscriptions in various Saddleworth churchyards which give dates of death and ages).
