I had the same problem the other day ........ with loads of different 'possible's. In the end, I had to narrow my search down using possible year +/- 2 years either side, and I had to widen the 'district possibility ! Found it in the end though. GOOD LUCK Elaine ;-)

I always thought that Cissie was short for Frances! Having said that, one of my ancestors was known as Cis but was actually called Annie!

Hi I had two Aunts that were called Cissie and discovered there real names were Ada and Ethel. I still do not know why they were called this and the connection with the individual names!!! So be liberal in your thinking.

I think any girl in a family (usually with a lot of brothers) would get called Cissie as a pet form of 'sister'. My G Grandad's sister 'Cissie' turned out to be Bertha!

My great Aunt Cissie, whom I searched for ages for was actually named Amy Lucy!!! No wonder I couldn't find her!! Tammy :~)
