Please could someone tell me how I can find these, I have found a marriage in 1815 Suffolk Bts. on family search but as I only know that he was born in Norfolk and she was born in Suffolk, I don't know which parish registers to look at. many thanks, Linda

They might be on the BIVRI...or did you need to see the original documents? BTs are usually held at the county records office. Heather

BTs will only help if you know which parish to look in and its always better to go to the original copies where possible. Have you looked for these people on www.familysearch.org? Are they around in 1851 census to check birthplaces and dates? nell

How inconsiderate of them not to give details and then have the nerve to die before 1861 census!! nell

Where did they marry in Suffolk? It could well be the bride's birth parish.

Linda

Linda Report 2 Jun 2006 11:48

I thought if I found the parish I might find their fathers and then maybe brothers of sister in parish records

Unknown

Unknown Report 2 Jun 2006 11:48

So Ann was born approx. 1789 and Edward approx. 1783/4.

This is the only Edward on IGI born around that time in Norfolk: Edward Flint Birth: 1783 Loddon, Norfolk Marriages: Spouse: Ann Marriage: About 1817 Loddon, Norfolk The spouse has the right name but the year and place are wrong, however this is information from a personal submission (submitter's details not known) so it might be inaccurate, although the only Edward Flint born Norfolk married to an Ann born Suffolk I can find in 1851 is Burgh St Peter Norfolk [in Loddon reg district] Edward Flint abt 1783 Norfolk, England Head Ann Flint abt 1797 Suffolk, England Wife Robert Flint abt 1820 Norfolk, England Son Benjamin Flint abt 1827 Norfolk, England Son Jonathan Utley abt 1830 Norfolk, England Son If this is your couple then Jonathan is another mystery. If not, then I reckon this is the pair from the Loddon marriage. nell

Again, this is the only pair of Edward/Ann Flints born Norfolk/Suffolk on 1841: Wheatacre Burgh Norfolk [again Loddon reg district] Edward Flint abt 1786 Norfolk, England Norfolk Ann Flint abt 1791 Norfolk, England Robert Flint abt 1821 Norfolk, England Benjamin Flint abt 1826 Norfolk, England Norfolk 1815 marriage details EDWARD FLINT Marriages: Spouse: ANN HOBBLES Marriage: 18 OCT 1815 Suffolk County Bts, Suffolk, England Source Information: Batch No.: Dates: M131601 1815 I'm wondering if this is in fact the actual marriage, or perhaps the banns or licence details? Alternatively, the Loddon marriage details may be wrong, the submitter just assuming they married in Edward's birthplace and guessing the marriage date going on details of the first child's birth? If you'd only posted this before I went to Norfolk Records office I could have checked the Loddon marriage register! I have family from around the area too, though none called Flint or Hobbles, sadly :-(( nell

Linda I've amended my posting about the details. I think there's a strong possibility that Loddon (or somewhere in the area) is Edward's birthplace and that the marriage there may be a guess or may be right. They could alternatively have married in Ann's home parish and then moved to Edward's birthplace to have their family. you could try looking for other Flints in the Loddon area on the census to see if you can find possible family members, and look for Hobbles in Suffolk to see if you can locate an area for Ann's lot. nell
