That may be significant as Catherine's husband died in May 1895 but he died in Widnes Lancs - however I think he came originally from Wales. Also the piece of paper is whitish but with a black border. Now I'm wondering if perhaps he was either buried back home in Wales or maybe they had some sort of memorial service for him. Now I need to look up deut iii 24 - i didnt think it was significant before but maybe it is? - Am I waffling? |

Eglwys is church, trefnyddion is Methodist so it's a Wesleyan Methodist chapel/church. Mehefin is June. arwydd = sign chwarterol = quarterly aelodaeth = membership Janice |

Hi could anyone translate this for me its from the Welsh family bible? 'Eglwys y Trefnyddion Wesleyaidd. Arwydd Chwarterol Aelodaeth. Mehefin 1895' Then theres a quote in welsh from Deut.iii. 24 then a big 'Y' then Catherine Jones and 'OH' Your help would be appreciated. Thanks Jen |
