Hi I'm trying to find Worring Field born 1839 in Sussex. I can find him on the 1901 Census but nothing before then. Thanks

Hi, thank you both for looking. I'm really confused now as his name was obviously spelt wront in the 1901 Census, was he Noring or Waring? He was born approx. 1839 in preston.

B***dy hell. I think he's a relative! Need to check this out when I get home, but there are Fields and Richardsons in my tree.

Merry Report 2 Jun 2006 19:43

His marriage is Waring, so I would go with that.... Name: Waring Field Year of Registration: 1861 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar District: Brighton County: Sussex, East Sussex Volume: 2b Page: 287 Spouse Elizabeth Dixon Merry

Hi guys Is it possible that they were Fuld but it changed to Field? As in the 1901 Cencus when Warring was marred to Sarah they were Field but in the earlier records they're Fuld? It definitely is the family with kids Bertram, Eleanor & Reginald.

Merry

Merry Report 2 Jun 2006 19:54

The earliest we have here is the 1841 and it's 100% Field on that, despite the transcription! Merry

Sarah Report 2 Jun 2006 19:54

So was warring Field (prev. Fuld) married fist to Elizabeth & then to Sarah. Sorry I'm still new to all this!

Phoenix

Phoenix Report 2 Jun 2006 19:56

Well, this is his birth in March 1839: Field Waring Steyning 7 409

Merry

Merry Report 2 Jun 2006 19:56

it's just a common transcription error......there are only about 20 Fuld BMD records (1837-1910), but hundreds of apparent Fulds on the censuses!! I would forget Fuld for the time being! Merry

So from what I can gather definitely Field born 1839. married to Elizabeth (nee Dixon) & had kids then he married Sarah 7 had more kids inc. my great gran. Please tell me if I'm on the right track here :) I really appreciate all your contributions.

The 1886 marriage record is a typed copy of the original hand written GRO index pages, so it might have originally been Waring....or might have been written Woring at the marriage.....Only getting the cert will answer that one for you! Merry
