Have you checked out variants of the Sheppard spelling such as Shepherd in the index? You might be able to fill your large gap if a child was registered slighty wrongly. Can't help more with the emigration question though sorry. Jenny

Karen, I was doing some more 'googling' and found a site for you: http://cormack.netfirms*com/information/history.htm (replace * with .) It mentions Vera and Cyril (in the 'History' section). There are also photos of the school children, etc. (but there aren't any names included). I found the site fascinating. Arthur Sheppard is listed in the Veteran's section. In 1951 Cyril Sheppard was a teacher. Under the photos section is a photo of the C.L. Sheppard Elementary School (1967-1997). There may be more to discover, but I've run out of time. Depending in what you are interested, you might want to contact the town - they may be able to give you answers, or even photographs? Best of luck, Lisa Photo (poor quality) of Cyril in 1964 and 'Clarence Sheppard' in 2004 - under Council History. There's a Sheppard's Store (any relation?): http://www.flies4fishing*com/main/naboutus.htm (replace * with .) Phone Directory: http://www*whitepages*com/10001/white-pages/Cormack-NL/

Hi Carol. I'm not computer literate (can only google), but I think you can copy the image??? Right click on it??? I think you have to email the image, rather than cut and paste.
