Thanks the batch number thing works for Marriages as well. All marriages of a particular surname at the same church. I also use the research tips on family search.org. It has a lot of help for other countries including France and Germany with a useful vocabulary and specimen letters. Also latin abreviations. I am taking the liberty of pasting your tip on to a thread I started for pre 1837 research. I hope you don't mind. i willll ofcourse credit you.

Thank you for this; I'm sure it will help loads of people in their research. I had no idea that if I pressed on 'Family History Library Catalogue' it would hold so much information. It is great when fellow family history addicts offer such useful tips. Bernie

Thanks Katarzyna for this wonderful tip. I had no idea there would be so much information there at 'Library Catalogue'. I'm sure it will help lots of us family history zealots to add to our already bulging files! Kind regards and many thanks, Bernie

Hi Kat, Thanks for that tip. I have found a lot of info about church records etc. from Faringdon, Berks. A couple of the reports say 'No circulation to FHCs.' Film location: FHL BRITISH Library Attendants` Window (6203901) Does this mean they are kept in the British Library in London? or will they be at Berks record office? Many thanks, Sylvia.
