Margaret..... Yes I am like you and don't open my tree to anyone! But I mis-understood at the beginning. I thought that if GR privatised all the people who ''hadn't died'' born after 1886, then that would mean people would no longer find them when doing a Name Search or getting their Hot Matches. Now, from what you say, I realise these privatised people will only appear that way (as Living X) when viewing someones tree. They will still show on a name search etc. The only thing wrong with this, is........if you know a little about someone's family and you are up to some sort of no good, you may be able to pick up info from the name search. eg Lets say you know Joe Bloggs and that he has his tree on here and for some devious purpose you want to know the names of his children. You also know they are aged 12 and 8. So.....you look up Bloggs born 3 years either way of 1996 and you would spot their names alongside treeholder Joe. So, those childrens details are not completely private!!!! My privatised tree was done off this site, so my living people are showing as Living X no matter how you try to access them on this site. Now, that's really private!! Merry

Merry Same here But, I just didnt put them on in the first place. The only living people are me, my hubby, my dad and hubby's dad. Both my dad and hubby's dad just say Living and their surname. Thats only to continue the link. Both of our mothers are deceased. I havent included aunts, uncles, cousins or our children I dont need to contact first cousins because I know them all. I realise that not everyone has this advantage. Margaret
