Hi Everyone xx After being poorly im back again lol I am in such a mess I have a James Webb married a Alice Hooton in Nottingham (my great grandparents) I thought they were born 1887 & 1888 but I got thier marriage cert yesterday and its saying that when they married in 1906 they were 41 yrs & 25 yrs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! making it 1865 &1881 So all my Hootons I have are wrong boohoo and for the life of me can't seem to trace the real Hootons who do belong to me (or Webb for that matter) It says on the marriage cert that James Webb 41 was an elecrical engineer and his dad was called William Webb Civil Engineer and in July 1906 he was deceased. Alice Hooton was 25 her dad was named Arthur Hooton and he was a Iron Planer. Neither James or Alice had been married before. hiya, first of all dont discount the info you already have, just keep it to one side, you may need it later, looks like youre gonna have t start again, with the details from cert, begin by looking on cen, to see if willliam was still alive, do the wintesses give any clues?? where were they living at time of marriage??? any idea where they could be living in 1901 cen? Hi Julie x They were living at 14 Highhurst Street Nottm & 12 Highhurst Street Nottm on 14th July 1906 when they married (james Living at no 14 alice at no 12) been back on the BMD's and found loads of alice hootons born in 1881 (but all with middle names no middle name shown on marriage cert) Do ya think she fibbed on marriage cert and added 7 yrs to her age to make it look better) but saying that I thought her dads name was Henry but its Arthur) god im confusing myself again why cant i have a nice simple traceable non fibbing family lmao Luv Angie xxx

Thing is is Alice fibbing on her marriage cert (my nanna alice's daughter in law did on hers caused me many a sleepless night she fibbed about her name her age and her address lmao) and uncovering all that was a nightmare!!!!!!!!!!! im pretty sure ive got the right marriage cert tho, cus whats the chances of 2 people named the same being married to the same people (ive got grandads birth cert so know def that his parents were James Webb & Alice Hooton and in 1907 when grandad was born they were living in Nottingham) Here I go again look confusing myself.
