Did they get married in Cornwall?

Am going nuts here trying to sort out Simon Noalls in St Ives Cornwall. I've found the Simon Noal/Noall I want from 1851 up to 1901. His birth date on all of those is 'abt 1819'. I know he married a Mary Ann Thomas on 19 June 1841 but however much I search I can't find him on the 1841 census. I've got credits on ancestry (of which i've wasted 10 looking for him tonight.. even tried looking at the image on a Sarah Noall in case the transcriber had misread the name lol), so if anyone can find him and let me know how to do the same I've got credits which I can use. I'd be very grateful for any help. Many thanks, Bex

Yes, as far as I know they got married in Cornwall. I've searched just on the name in case they may have been away on honeymoon.. but nothing.

Doesn't their marriage certificate give an address for each of them? And if so, have you tried looking for those addresses on the census? By the way, if the date you give for their marriage is correct, then they got married after census night so could not have been away on honeymoon! Kate.

Yep, Fish Street, St Ives, for Simon, it just says Madron, Cornwall for Mary. But he wasn't at Fish Street when the census took place. Have got full census records for his mother, father and brother living at Fish Street and he's not on them. Found his sister, she was off visiting her married 15 year old sister, but no sign of Simon

Was he a 'joiner'? Did he have a relative Jane? It does look as if there were quite a lot of Noals in the St. Ives area. If you have Simon's marriage certificate then presumably it gives his father's name? (Though maybe not that much help if he is the Simon above as there is no older man in the household! But you could try to find a baptism of a Simon with correct father's name and mother Jane.) Kate.

Right, I think the 1841 with Catherine, Jane and Mary at Digey Place could be the one... The date for Jane ties in (take a year) with his auntie's birth date. Will check that one. Many many thanks. Another Simon (related as well) married an Elizabeth Jennings. Many many thanks Bex

1) I was joking 2) It was in British origins site on what is called a petitions list-presumably divorce . British origins has 1841 and 1871 census and is better transcribed.
