Heather, this is the family in 1901 (i think?!?) View Record Ada Gill abt 1885 Denaby Main, Yorkshire, England Daughter Denaby Yorkshire View Record Doris E Lingle abt 1901 Denaby Main, Yorkshire, England Daughter Denaby Yorkshire View Record Fred Lingle abt 1899 Denaby Main, Yorkshire, England Son Denaby Yorkshire View Record Frederick Lingle abt 1863 Cinderford, Gloucestershire, England Head Denaby Yorkshire View Record John H Lingle abt 1896 Denaby Main, Yorkshire, England Son Denaby Yorkshire View Record Joseph Lingle abt 1891 Denaby Main, Yorkshire, England Son Denaby Yorkshire View Record Mary A Lingle abt 1868 Landeywoods, Staffordshire, England Wife Denaby Yorkshire View Record Walter Lingle abt 1894 Denaby Main, Yorkshire, England Son Denaby Yorkshire Also, the oldest daughter has a different surname...?!!?! Mary was born c 1868, which means we are looking for a marriage around about 1888. The youngest child was born c1885, so a marriage in about 1884 would be best.

I do apologise Tom, I was bleary eyed and thought the other 1901 census that had been added had been taken as the correct one. I didnt read all of the thread and didnt see your 1901. Yes, as you have found the other mistranscribed one it would seem likely that is the marriage and worth buying the cert. :}

once again thanks for everyones help. I,m going to obtain a copy of the marriage cert. All the names on the 1901 census from Tom tie to the knowlage I have been past from oldest living family memebers so i,m sure thats the correct family. Eldest daughters name Ada Gill or Ada Gill Tingle I wonder?No one alive knew if she had a middle name. Only other puzzle is the inclusion of a son called Fred which no one alive as knowledge of. Youngest son was called Albert but its possible Albert was born after 1901. All other names are correct.strange that the other Frederick Tingle did have a son called Albert. They were kicked out of their home during a big minning strike and Albert was born in a tent on the local gypsy site during the strike so the story goes. Wonder if anyone as knowlege of a minning strike date around the turn of that century?
