Do hope you have managed to sort out your problem with this and hope you let us all know the outcome. Shame Heather and Glen aren´t here at the moment as they really are the FTM experts.

Have a look at the FTM forum on the Genforum site http://genforum.genealogy.com/using/ Try something like record change date in the search box There are a few threads on removing Record Dates. It appears that these can get added automatically when importing a Gedcom.

It only seems to appear on a genealogy report and I am now in the process of going through each person manually selecting EDIT then FACTS and deleting the record change-thank goodness there are only about 150 in my tree. Still have not discovered how to turn the blessed thing off!! Jennie

just adding to this so I can find again and see the outcome. I have FTM 2006 and it never does that to me and I use Genealogy reports all the time. Simone x

I have seen a Record Change Entry on files I have received as Gedcoms. It just appears as another 'Fact' Check one of your names that has a change date by looking in the Facts to see if there is one present for that name. Like others I can not find a way of adding a record change autiomatically, I have always assumed that it had been done manually, so I can't explain how it got there. It is possible to delete a Fact and all the contents attached to record. This could be a sloution if you want to get rid.

hi there, I have never used the genealogy report option, only print the family group record sheet. I have noticed that if you choose the genealogy report though there are a list of icons on the right hand side of the page, the fourth one down is options, there are several options for you to untick, have a look in there and see if that is of any use to you. Fuzzy x

Hmmnn I had another look and can't seem to find anything. Sorry no refunds given, even if the answer given is not as useful as hoped.(mind you i haven't been paid yet) The best suggestion i can make is to e-mail FTM support and ask the question direct. There is a link from the online help centre to e-mail them. Glen

Thanks for trying to help. Must go and spend 30 mins to make it look like I've been rushing round the house all day. Might nudge it in a few days if I'm still tearing my hair out. Jennie

Glen! I thought I pointed out that I was easily confused. Now I have to disappear for an hour to try it out. I thought I was computer literate until I started doing this. Jennie

Elaine Report 22 Aug 2006 15:44

Not sure you are on the right lines there Glen -. surely that just refers to your header or footer on the printout of the report. Find this one quite baffling - have searched the helpline website and can´t see anything.

Glen In Tinsel Knickers Report 22 Aug 2006 15:40

My tinsel is in a twist with this, but i think i might have something useful for the usual fee Question Why does my Family Group Sheet still show an old date or address? I've updated my user information, but the Family Group Sheet still shows the old information. Answer Cause: The Family Group Sheet has its own user information settings that need to be changed. Resolution: Create a Family Group Sheet. From the Contents menu, select Title & Footnote. In the Preparer Information section, correct the outdated information. HINT: Try leaving the Date field blank. If you check Include date of printing in the Page number and Date section, FTM automatically includes the current date every time you print a Family Group Sheet. Glen

I have just had another look and it seems to be on the genealogy report when it says: More about Jane Smith Record Change 1st Jan 2006. It doesn't do it where I have added notes. Why do I get more confused than I used to these days-is it living in the past that does it?? Jennie

Elaine

Elaine Report 22 Aug 2006 15:21

I can´t see anything about this! When you update a fact do you amend the existing data you have in the program by overwriting it, or do you type the new information in again?
