I made my mum a grandmother at 36, I became a grandmother at 38 and my sister became a grandmother at 35. My nan who is 85 is a grt grt grandmother to 3 children. It does seem strange to think when i am researching census' etc that my grandson knows his grt grt grandmother and will probably remember her.... when i look at records and my grt grt grandparents are just a name. I think he is one lucky boy to have so many 'nans'

Jayne, being a grandparent is great!!!! much better than being a parent, you get ALL the best bits and none of the horrible stuff!!!!! Im sure my granchildren love me much more than my children did because i never have to discipline them... or been seen as the nasty ogre who wont let them do anything. As for slippers, rugs etc..... me and my sis regularly go out and paint the town red...... no rugs, slippers or cocoa for us yet!!!!! enjoy it.... it GREAT!!!!!!!!! Good luck Sharon xx

Hi My Mum was 42 when I had my first child (she is now 14) and she is a very young and fit grandmother. My mum has 4 more children who haven't even started having kids yet. Tammy:~)

I can offer a Grandfather at 34 and a Grandmother at 37 This was via their Daughter who married at 16 and a half. Talking about 1893 in Portsea (Portsmouth area). It was quite a shock when I worked it out a few months ago, but it means an 'extra' generation going back to the 1837 point. I think they'll be the youngest Grandparents in my tree.
