What i should have added to my post about creating a file WITHOUT NOTES is that the newly created file is then suitable for uploading to GR, Ancestry,Tribal pages etc and also for sharing with fellow researchers. In fact you can decide just how much or little the file will contain without having to delete big chunks from your main file each time you share/upload. The 'facts to import' cover several categories. Each fact has what is called a 'tag', there are about 130 distinct tags that can be used and therefore about 130 different types of fact you can record, these are separate to notes you may add. Examples of tags (and their abbreviated names) are Occupation (occu) Baptism (bapm) Birth (birt) Place (plac) By selecting which facts to import you can decide what information you rinclude in the file you want to upload/share.
