hi, HAPPY NEW YEAR with the help of some lovely people on here i located a family i am looking for on the 1851 census but they have a grandaughter living with them and i cant see that the name given could be correct see below in a mo love linda x x

Yem is an interesting surname - I just put that and the year 1851 and there are only 52 of them. I'll have a look for her. BRB.

First names can be tricky because the enumerator writes them down as he/she hears the name said - I have in my family a Caroline who is on a census as Cary and on another as Caryline.

I has a look on Family search thinking maybe George and Charlot had other daughters that could have married and been the mother of 'coling' (Coleen or Caroline seem the most likey names) Extracted records are: 1. THOMAS YEM - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 24 MAR 1835 Abinghall, Gloucester, England but some one submitted the following as another daughter (there is an extracted record for this girl with the details as below - only spelt Yemm) Jane Yem Birth: Christening: 07 JUN 1829 Michelldean, , Gloucester, England Any posability she could be a step-grand-daughter? I was thinking maybe Charles married young to an older woman but have found him in 1861 and his wife is about his age (and again in 1871 but wih double barled surname:- Basley Yemm)

The family living next door to George and Charlotte in 1841 Census are a young couple with the surname King. BINGO!!!!! LUCY TRIGG Christening: 14 JAN 1821 Mitcheldean, Gloucester, England Parents: Father: JAMES TRIGG Mother: CHARLOTTE Batch No: C030281 This couple had James 1815, Abia 1817, Lucy 1821 and Eliza 1824. Found this on NBI, can't trace the place on my map but could it be mistranscribed and be the right James? James TRIGG Date 7 Oct 1824 Aged 42 Place ABENHALL, St Michael Glos. Update - Abenhall/Abinghall is the same place, spelling changed over time. George and Charlotte had a 14 year old Arabella with them in 1841 so probably married 1824-1827. Haven't found the record yet but I'm looking.

I think this is her birth reg Collin King 1841 Dec qtr Westbury-on severne which covers East Dean. She is working as a servant in Herefordshire in 1861, marries Arthur Lacey in 1865 at St Giles London. She is transcribed as Ellin Lacey in 1871 although it clearly says Collin on the image. Also found as Collin in 1881,1891 and 1901 Maureen

Cousins??? Have to leave you with that, as kids want computer. I'll see if anyone has come up with any updates later.
