Hi Tara Unfortunately they did seem to change spellings. Also called their Children by their middle name, finding some of my Ancestors births has been a nightname. Do let us know if this John turns out to be the right one. Good luck Linda

Ive put the dates at the top of each message. The last one is 1871. Shame, no older siblings on there - Ive had to buy older kids birth certs before now. It may be that Lindas one may match - Burchmore. Not sure if Luton is right district - you can google to see if it covers the area shown as his birth place. Nite nite. Hope it works out.

Have you looked at the full bmd index on ancestry - not just the name searchable freebmd one? If you have actually looked at the images not just the name search and he isnt there, then if that is the right chap in Herts and it certainly seems to be, why dont you send for a siblings birth cert?

Heather

Heather Report 30 Jan 2007 23:31
