Me and Shirley are quite a good team aren't we, she has been with me from day one of me finding a Birth name for my Brother, nice to have some support from someone ~ Love ya Shirley XX So now I have sorted mine out, I can help others and I like to re~unite families if I can...Best feeling out ! ! ! Victoria Good Luck Last year I found who I thought was the Wife of my Mums Brother (Mum and her Brother had not been in contact for over 50 years, in fact before I was born) Mum died in 2002 and her Brother died in the 1990's I wrote to this Lady and low and behold she wrote a lovely letter back, it was who I thought, and she sent me some photos of herself the the Uncle I never knew. All the very best, hope it works out for you Linda

You have nothing to lose whatsoever , and having done it, there is no turning back. I have no idea which , maybe both even , was adopted . Think of it from here side for a moment - if she was the one given for adoption are you going to tell herif she doesnt know ? if it was your mum, and this lady doesnt know anything about your sister - do you have the facts to explian fully- what does it tell this woman about the woman she called mother ? You'll just have to keep everything crossed that this works out - you have madea move that i really think you shouldn't have done- thats only my opinion - It could have dire repercussions for everyone and you have no-one on your side to support you. You obviously know where this lady lives, you put the letter thru the door .how long are you going to wait, before you contact her again - will you be content with no reply whatsoever??

Sheila

Sheila Report 30 Mar 2007 14:33

Hi Victoria, Wishing you all the Best of Luck! give it time, if she just think there may be a vague family connection she may not rush to get in touch, on the other hand is she has an idea of what it's about she may need to mull things over in her head before she makes contact, either way it may take a little time, so keep yourself pre-occupied or the hours may seem like days :O) Sheila

Victoria, Good luck, hoping for a happy outcome for you ! I posted a letter in February to a lady I thought (was convinced) was a cousin of my father. Within a week of posting she wrote back to me and introduced me to two more of her sisters. They didn't know of me, I didn't know of them. BUT I have the family photographs etc. I am now exchanging these and having weekly telephone conversations discussing them. I am so pleased to share and we seem to get on so well. I tried and it worked ! Best wishes, Joan
