Hang on: 1861: In Warrington: It does say place of birth Warrington - well it has dittoed a Warrington further up the page - but I think thats probably a bit of slap dashery on the part of the enumerator. Yeah i noticed that in 1871 - I thought it was strange he would have been so young to have a kid! Definately something going on with that!!!! I shall have to investigate further.

Looks like he was married to Mary before - she died and then son James died and he remarried to Bridget Dowd.

Ah right so reason i cant find him in 1861 is because name was spelt wrong.

AND he had a different wife and an extra son. You may find Bridget married previously too. You need to buy that marriage cert. Which of the children are you descended from - that is - which of his wives is your ancestor?

Yeah that definately looks right doesn't it, gonna look them up now!! So Andrew Sauce was actually born about 1833ish by the looks of things, i wonder if he lied about his age in the 1851 census (says born 1825)

Dont spose he lied, may be that he was lodging and the person who filled in the form or told the info to the enumerator (if they couldnt write) just made a guess at his age? Wonder if this boy was his too - poor little devil died aged less than 2: Birth: Name: Andrew Sause Year of Registration: 1864 Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep District: Warrington County: Cheshire, Lancashire Volume: 8c Page: 135 (click to see others on page) Death: Name: Andrew Sauce Birth: abt 1865 Death: Mar 1866 - Warrington, Cheshire, Lancashire
